Mango Salsa

  • 4 Cups mango, skinned & diced
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 Teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon serrano chile, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, finely chopped


This has been a favorite recipe in Mazatlan for years, use it as a salsa with chips or over heated brie or as a condiment to dinner dishes. Make it with mangos, peaches or whatever.


Combine all ingredients and let stand at least 30 minutes before serving.  Adjust to taste with more salt, lime juice, Serrano or add a dash of black pepper.


Some people like to add a couple tablespoons of finely diced red bell pepper (NOT ME!) or a teaspoon of finely chopped mint.  It’s all on your plate baby!
