Elk Burgers

  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons white corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pound elk burger



Break the elk burger up in a large bowl.  Saute the onion till just soft.  Drizzle corn syrup and Worcestershire over burger, add onion and salt & pepper to taste.  BBQ until med rare or as desired but don’t over cook.

The syrup will help hold the moisture while the W sauce and onion add a little flavor.  Quite tasty.  A slice of good cheddar works too.  Also consider mixing 1 pound of elk burger with 1 pound of venison sausage or 1/2 pound of pork sausage for a new flavor.

Other options include:  Use one egg rather than the syrup.  Use shallots rather than onion.  Have a glass of wine and go out for dinner.
