Blue Cheese Venison Grill

Ingredients

  • 1 cup tawny port
  • 1 15 oz can spicey vegetable juice, V8, 5.5 oz
  • 1/3 cup sliced green onions
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black peppercorns
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 4 1" thicks venison steaks
  • 1/2 cup beef or venison stock
  • 3 oz.s blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup port or red wine

Notes

Combine marinade ingredients in a zip lock bag with steaks and refrigerate 4 hours. Remove steaks and set aside. Pour marinade into a saucepan, boil until reduced to 1 cup. Add stock, boil again until reduced to 1 cup, stir in cheese and remove from heat.Fry or grill steaks to desired doneness and serve with sauce over. You should be smart enough to have drank the last cup of port or wine by now!
